ABOUT SEA SCHOOL
What can the stories of yesterday's shorelines teach us about the present?

What can we learn from people and places today that will influence our futures?
SEA School studios & labs is a mobile learning centre to explore Science, Ecology and the Arts in the field.
We're returning the word school to its original meaning:
leisure

Meet The Team
Tasneem Khan
Founder | Director
Tas is a biologist, artist and educator exploring how people relate to, engage with and learn from place. Her practice is rooted in an evolving study on the literacy of landscape - working through field research, the development of shared-value enterprises, the designing immersive learning pedagogy, documenting and archiving community-held knowledge systems.
Each of her projects involve facilitating interdisciplinary initiatives.
Now based in Ireland, her work straddles, contrasts and draws from field sites across the Atlantic and Indian Oceans

Sam Dunlop Doyle
Researcher | Educator
At just two weeks old, Sam’s parents brought him to the local swimming pool. He has had a love for water ever since and spent many days of his youth at swim competitions or the beaches of Wexford as a lifeguard and swim instructor.
Inspired by National Geographic, Sam has visited many tropical locations around the world. He enjoys exploring different cultures, studying the diversity of life, and understanding the ways nature contributes to society and economies.
Sam has a wide range of skills and experiences from education to media and podcasting. He is motivated by opportunities to bring people closer to their local environments, and believes that,
‘No one will protect what they don't care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced.’
Kelly Kerr
Website & Business Development
Kelly is delighted to support the incredible mission and work of Sea School with website and business development - and occasionally dreaming up big ideas with Tasneem in their favorite cove.

Hailing from Alberta, Canada, Kelly has spent much of her life exploring the forests and wetlands of the Rocky Mountains. Her passion for helping kids and families connect to nature led to many great jobs involving camps, events, and fundraisers - and to exciting encounters involving bears, moose, cougars, and cows!

Now she is very happy exploring Ireland's southeast coast. Through SEA School, Kelly and her family have learned so much about Irish seascapes, landscapes, and maritime history.
Faye White
Researcher | Educator
Faye is a recently graduated wildlife biologist from Munster Technological University Kerry. Growing up on the coast in Waterford, she nurtured her interest in nature and ecology from a young age, exploring the diverse landscapes right on her doorstep. Passionate about the outdoors, she is happiest when searching under rocks and trees.
Faye has hands-on experience in ecological research, notably working with the invasive species Rhododendron ponticum, which involved mapping its extent across northern Connemara, County Galway, and parts of County Mayo. She is passionate about conserving Ireland's natural habitats and combating invasive species.
Faye is enthusiatic about educating others on the importance of caring for the environment and sustainability.
"We are all shaped by the sound of the wind, the slant of sunlight, by streams of scent afloat in the larger ocean of air. We are porous to the world around us"
